Speech Therapy Reception

We are looking for you who are studying to become a speech therapist and will have completed at least the 6th semester of your education by summer. Here you will have the opportunity to start applying your speech therapy skills in practice at a speech therapy reception in Sörmland, with support from experienced supervisors and colleagues. Licensed speech therapists are also welcome to apply.

About us

The speech therapy receptions in Region Sörmland are located at the region's three hospitals in Eskilstuna, Nyköping, and Katrineholm. Together, the receptions form a county-wide unit with a developing work environment in a broad operation. Our speech therapists work in both outpatient and inpatient care, in neurorehabilitation and child health care. Each reception operates independently, but we strive for equal care in the county and therefore work in regional diagnosis groups to create uniform routines and methods.

With us, you have the opportunity to work alongside both experienced colleagues and speech therapists who are newer to the profession. A common goal for everyone is to create better care and accessibility for our patients. The speech therapy reception was awarded the 2023 Region Sörmland Development Prize for our work with the care flow for children aged 0-6 years with language disorders.

The speech therapy reception is part of the county clinic for ear, nose, and throat, which, in addition to speech therapists, also has specialist doctor receptions, nursing receptions, medical secretaries, and hearing care receptions.

This summer, we are looking for new temporary summer workers for placement in Eskilstuna or Nyköping. We look forward to this as an addition to our workgroups and a way to contribute to the competence of future colleagues! Many of our previous employees who worked as summer interns have returned to work another summer or have gone on to employment at the clinic after graduation.

Your tasks

Your primary task will be to assess preschool-aged children with atypical language development. Other tasks may occur if you are a licensed therapist. You will work independently but have access to supervision. The work is full-time, but the workload will be adjusted to your level of competence. We have a clear process for our work with this patient group, and your tasks will be clearly defined to ensure you feel secure.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who are studying to become a speech therapist and will have completed at least the 6th semester of your education by summer or are a licensed speech therapist. It is advantageous if you have completed one or more internship periods with us. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.

Temporary summer employment with start date according to agreement.
